The Robin

I was praying this morning and at the same time mulling over in my mind some financial considerations concerning my business & personal finances. Naturally, the tendency for my thoughts were to drift toward the horrible economy, recession, depression, etc.. I could almost feel the darkness enter into my peaceful time of meditation. I was sitting at a chair facing our large rear window that looks into a forest surrounding a branch of the Corsica River. It also overlooks our stone patio and benches that surround the same. The chair is approximately 10-12’ above the stone wall. The winds were blowing very strongly this AM.

All of a sudden, a relatively young robin flew right in front of me and landed on the stone wall bench with a huge worm dripping out of her mouth. She sat there for almost 15 minutes…never once attempting to eat or swallow that worm…struggling to stand upright in the wind…not taking flight to escape the oppression of the wind. The worm dangled out of her mouth and every once in a while she turned and looked me right square in the eyes…it seemed as if she was smiling behind that tasty treat and appeared to say “Trust Him!”

Then I heard these words… “So I tell you, don’t worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food to eat or clothes to wear. For life consists of far more than food and clothing. Look at the ravens.(ROBINS) They don’t need to plant or harvest or put food in barns because God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds! Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? Of course not! And if worry can’t do little things like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things? Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won’t he more surely care for you? You have so little faith! And don’t worry about food—what to eat and drink. Don’t worry whether God will provide it for you. These things dominate the thoughts of most people, but your Father already knows your needs. He will give you all you need from day to day if you make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.” Luke 12: 22

After I sat there for about 15 minutes amazed at the Goodness & Grace of God…I said “Alright, You can Go!” She flew away! Some may wonder concerning the circumstances, BUT I KNOW IT WAS HIM!

Faith comes “by hearing the Word of God.” Are you listening today!

"YOU ARE FAR MORE VALUABLE TO HIM THAN ANY BIRDS!” VS 24

Peace and Strength in His Word Today!
