WHAT HAPPENS WHEN KINGS LIVE WELL?

Revelation 1:5-6 “…Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

John, the beloved disciple, was given this revelation that WE are kings and priests, and in chapter 5 verse 10 we are also told again that we have been made “…kings and priests” and that “we shall reign on the earth." When I discover new and exciting truths in the Word of God, I get excited and begin check out the rest of the applications found throughout the pages. Recently I have been studying the Books of 1 Kings and 2 Kings. These are the very simple but profound truths I uncovered.

1 Corinthians 10: 6-7 tells us that the Old Testament illustrations are given to us as "our examples." Another translation, the New Living Testament, states it this way... "These events happened as a warning to us, so we would not crave evil things as they did, or worship idols as some of them did. " The entire Old Testament can be viewed as Historical happenings in the lives of God's Chosen People, but for us it also serves as examples, warnings and illustrations as to how to live our lives in the Spiritual realm. It is filled with examples on how to live victorious lives as well as how to avoid going down in flames.

One of my favorite parables that Jesus told is found in Matthew 7 where He tells us that there are two basic kinds of people in this earth. He tells us that in the midst of life's storms there are those who "stand" and those who "fall." He tells us that everyone goes through the storms of life, but there are Scriptural keys to going through the storms successfully. Matthew 7: 24-25 "...whoever hears these sayings of mine, and does them, I will liken him unto a wise man, who built his house upon a rock, And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it did not fall for it was founded upon a rock."

WHOEVER DISCOVERS AND APPLIES THE PRINCIPLES OF GOD, WHETHER WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE OR SPOKEN TO US BY HIS SPIRIT ARE THE ONES WHO STAND IN THE MIDST OF LIFE'S STORMS!

In the two Old Testament Books of Kings, the same basic principles apply. Over and over the lives of each of the Kings of the the divided Kingdom (Judah and Israel), either stood or fell depending on what they did with the Word of the Lord. Two recurrent themes appear that we would be wise to discover for ourselves and apply that which is most pleasing to the Lord.

Let's talk about the "Good News" first. Jesus told us to proclaim the Gospel (Good news)to the world, so here it goes. Without exception when the King of the nation would "do right in the eyes of the Lord" and rid His Kingdom of all the idols, then that King would prosper. Here's the amazing part! Not only did he prosper, but his family prospered; and his Kingdom prospered, as well. As an example, let's look at 1 Kings 11:38-39

"If you listen to what I tell you and live the way I show you and do what pleases me, following directions and obeying orders as my servant David did, I’ll stick with you no matter what. I’ll build you a kingdom as solid as the one I built for David. Israel will be yours!" TM

Throughout the Old Testament, God basically required two things: Putting Him first by destroying all idols and not intermarrying with others of different faiths, which would eventually lead to idolatry, as well. He also commanded them to obey His directives, both written in His Word and those spoken by the mouth of His prophets. When His commands were followed, the King , his family and his people prospered.

Now here's the not so good news. When the King disobeyed the Word of the Lord, he got whacked (My own term for allowing the enemy to hit us wherever it hurts), his family got whacked and his kingdom took a hit as well. 1 Kings 13: 32 "But even after this, Jeroboam did not turn from his evil ways. He continued to choose priests from the rank and file of the people. Anyone who wanted to could become a priest for the pagan shrines. This became a great sin and resulted in the destruction of Jeroboam’s kingdom and the death of all his family."

Since this pattern is repeated over and over again throughout the two Books of Kings, I figure maybe the Lord is attempting to tell us something. If you want the Lord to prosper you, your family and your efforts in His kingdom work, as His chosen Kings, then here's what we need to do.

1) Rid your life of all the idols. Take time with him and ask the Holy Spirit if there is ANYTHING that you have centered in your life that gets more attention than relationship with Him. (Could be ministry, family, leisure, children's activities, money. relationships, work, sports, news, video games, sex, etc.) Take anything in your life that can remind you of their existence and destroy them. Get it out of the house or out of your life. Ask God for a Divine Strategy to rid these idols from your relationship with Him. When you implement His Strategy, He will empower you!

2) Do not marry yourself with the things of this world. We need to be involved in the lives of others in this world and to exercise our Godly influence in the world and its people, but we are not to begin to look or act like the world. The things of this world must not rule our lives and our decisions. We are told to Love God with "all our heart, mind, soul and strength,"(Mark 12:30) and to put Him and His Kingdom first, then everything else will be added to our lives.(Matthew 6:33)

3) Live our lives in loving obedience to His written Word and to the directives of His Holy Spirit. When you discover His principles as contained in the Bible, put them into practice, whether they are additions or deletions to your life. Do it or quit it! Stay connected with him so that you can hear His voice. Acknowledge Him in all your ways (Not just the big ones) so He can direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6.

His commandments and directives are good. 1 John 5:3 "For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous." God is not giving us His commandments to control us. He gives them to us so that we may live the God kind of life. John 10:10. If we follow His words then we we experience " life (God's kind of living) ....and health to all our flesh." Proverbs 4:20

Kings are designed to live well and so we shall, when we do "what is right in the sight of the Lord" and eliminate anything that gets in the way of our relationship with Him!

2 Kings 18:1-7 "...Hezekiah...began to reign...And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD...He removed the high places, and broke the images, and cut down the groves, and broke in pieces the brasen serpent...He trusted in the LORD God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him. For he followed the LORD, and did not depart from following him, but kept his commandments...And the LORD was with him; and he prospered wherever he went."

Talk with God tonight and ask him to tell you the truth. He will IF you will listen!

JESUS TOOK YOUR DISEASES...

Isaiah 53:4 “ Surely he has borne(carried away) our griefs (Hebrew: choliy…malady, anxiety, sicknesses and diseases) , and carried our sorrows(Hebrew: mak'ob, anguish, affliction, grief, pain, sorrow.).

OK…read it this way…” Surely, He has carried away our maladies, anxieties, sicknesses and diseases and carried away our anguish, afflictions, griefs, sorrows and pains.”

If someone comes into your house and bears or carries away your furniture, then obviously you don’t have your furniture anymore! If UPS came to your house with a box, all damaged and broken, full of poisonous spiders and snakes and said “Sign here for these.” What would you say? If you’re the average Christian, your response will probably be something like this. “Oh well, I guess since you’re delivering the package, it must be mine, so I’ll accept it.” If you take the package and its not yours You Are Crazy!

In the same way when the enemy of our soul comes along with a fever, sniffles or flu like symptoms, we receive the package even though it doesn’t belong to us! If Jesus carried your diseases and sicknesses away and He personally bore them for you, the He took the package and you don’t have to! Reject the package. Let violence rise up on the inside of you at the very onset of the temptation (initial symptoms). Jesus said in Matthew 11:12 “…from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth (has allowed) violence, and the violent take it (The Kingdom of Heaven) by force. Israel had to kick the enemy out of their promised land, and its no different for us! Deuteronomy 11:8 “Therefore you must keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land…”

You must kill that Thought before it takes root in your heart. Violent Christians get violent by wielding their sword and swinging it at anything that exalts itself against the Word of God. Ephesians 6:17 “And take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God…” Do not let the symptoms or initial thoughts of any sickness or disease take root in your heart. It is a lie of the devil because Jesus has “carried away your sicknesses and diseases.”

Do you know the easiest way to kill a giant oak tree? Squash it when it is an acorn. We see in Jesus’ life our example for resisting things that originate with the devil. In Matthew 4 we see His acorn squashing strategy… “It is Written…” and every time…EVERY TIME… the enemy spoke and threw inappropriate suggestions His way His immediate response was to swing the Sword of the Spirit. So too, when you awake with cold or flu symptoms, you must begin to speak God’s healing promises and kill that attack before it takes root!

“By the stripes of Jesus, I am healed” 1 Peter 2:24

“He forgives all of my sins and heals me of all my diseases.” Psalm 103:3

“Jesus took my infirmities and bore my sicknesses…” Matthew 8:17

“Well, I said that once and nothing happened.” Start swinging your sword and don’t stop until the enemy is totally defeated and all symptoms are gone! Chew on this statement by E.W. Kenyon for awhile. It’s pretty heavy. “If you are prepared to stand on the Word of God FOREVER, You won’t have to wait very long!” Your enemy knows how long you’ll last. He knows that you’re not the giant of faith that you pretend to be, and he’ll let you take a couple of swings at him until you tire out and let your sword fall to the ground in despair.

If you are in a place of serious sickness or illness, then you have a more difficult, but not an impossible task ahead of you. Matthew 19:26 “…Jesus said to them…with God all things are possible.” Mark 9:23 “Jesus said to him, If thou can believe, all things are possible to him that believes.” It takes longer and a great deal more effort to cut down the giant oak tree than it does to squash an acorn, BUT its still possible!

Get into your Bible…Read the Gospels…watch the hands and heart of Jesus in action. Discover God’s Will as displayed in His life and Healing Ministry. Matthew 8:16 “When the evening was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed ALL THAT WERE SICK.” Connect with fellow Believers who know God’s Will for healing you! Have them teach you, encourage you and pray for you! Discover His principles; apply them and position yourself for His healing flow.

GOD WILL NEVER LOVE YOU ANY MORE THAN HE DOES RIGHT NOW!

SOUL WINNING ON YOUR KNEES!

Ac 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

God has promised in His Word salvation for our households based on our belief and trust in His ability coupled with targeted prayer for those under our covering.

Some believers will immediately argue that they don't believe that this is possible, but if we take a brief look at some of the Old Testament illustrations of household salvation, we are able to see that there is a pattern that is consistent with household salvation as indicated in Acts 16:31.

Everyone who is saved must make their own decision for Christ; accept His work at Calvary and invite Him to establish His Lordship in their own individual lives. Romans 10:9-10 "...if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." However today's Scripture and several Old Testament examples lead us to believe that God will exercise sufficient influence, in whatever way He choses to win their hearts.

We are told that Noah was able to bring in his unbelieving family into the safety of the ark. Lot brought his family out of Sodom and Gomorrah because of Abraham's belief in the promises and deliverance of God. Rahab was also able to save her entire household from the total annihillation imposed upon Jericho by the Israelite nation. In the same way in Acts 16:31 we are told that God will save our household based upon our own belief in His ability!

Let me share with you a Kingdom secret concerning the way that God works His influence upon peoples lives. Oftentimes He will work through situations and circumstances in our lives, but His way of choice is to influence hearts. God doesn't force our minds or our lives to accept Him but He can and does exert His influence upon our hearts. Proverbs 21:1 states that "The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, and like a river: he turns it wherever He wills." Jeremiah 24:7 confirms this fact... "...I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart." The Word tells us that God is going to give our loved ones hearts to know Him and that He will turn their hearts toward Himself.

This is where prayer for our loved ones comes into play...

1) PROVERBS 21:1 Pray that The Lord will fill your Heart with a passion for the Lost!

2) ACTS 1:8 Pray for a continuous infilling of the Holy Spirit in your own Life; that He will make you a Powerful and Bold Witness for Jesus.

3) JOHN 16:13 Ask the Holy Spirit for a Target List!

4) JEREMIAH 24:7 Ask the Lord to give them a Heart to Know Him, to return to Him.

5) ROMANS 10:1 Pray that they will be Saved...Made Whole!

6) EPHESIANS 6:18 Use The Sword of the Spirit, Praying IN HIM...Ask Him what to Pray specifically.

7) EPHESIANS 1:16-19 Pray...
a) That the Lord will give them His Spirit of Revelation & Knowledge of Him.
b) That He will open the eyes of their understanding.
c) That they will know the Hope of His Calling.
d) That they will know the Riches of His Inheritance.
e) That they will know the exceeding greatness of His Power toward us.

8) MATTHEW 18:18 Dissolve evil influences in their lives...Bind them!

9) 2 CORINTHIANS 4:4 Ask the Lord to let the Light of His Word pierce their blinded minds.

10) MATTHEW 13:19 Ask the Lord to keep evil from stealing the Word sewn in their hearts.

11) MATTHEW 9:37-38 Ask the Lord to send other Believers to cross their paths.

12) 2 THESSALONIANS 3:1 Pray that the Word of God will run it’s course.

13) ROMANS 8:26 Pray in tongues.

Lu 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

HEALING:FREE FROM THE CURSE!

Ga 3:13 "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree:"

As a result of mankind's initial fall to sin we have been subjected to the curse of sin (Or the Curse of the Law) and it's effects. When mankind was walking in fellowship with God and obedience to His Word and His Principles, we were under the influence of the blessings of the Law.

Both the blessings and curses can be found in Deuteronomy 28. Let's begin with the Blessings and make ourselves happy:

Dt 28:1 "And it shall come to pass, if you will hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments...that the LORD your God will set you on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings will come on you, and overtake you...Blessed will you be in the city, and blessed will you be in the field. Blessed will be the fruit of your body, and the fruit of your ground...Blessed will be your basket and your store. Blessed will you be when you come in, and blessed will you be when thou go out. The LORD shall cause your enemies that rise up against you to be smitten before your face...The LORD shall command the blessing upon you in your storehouses, and in all that you set your hand to; and he will bless you in the land...And all people of the earth will see that you are called by the name of the LORD...And the LORD will make you plenteous in goods...The LORD will open unto you his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of your hand: and thou will lend...and ...not borrow. And the LORD shall make you the head, and not the tail; and you will be above only, and ...not be beneath..."

In today's Scriptural nugget we are told that Jesus "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law." Redeemed is defined as "being set free, rescued or ransomed." Today's passage tells us that we have been set free from whatever the curse of the law is; so let's take a look in Deuteronomy and see what we've been set free from, especially in regards to healing!

Deuteronomy 28:18 "Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body..."
vs 21... "the pestilence..."
vs 22... "consumption(tuberculosis), and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning..."
vs 27... "the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods(hemorrhoids) and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed."
vs 28... "madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart..."
vs 35... " in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head."
vs 45... " all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed..."
vs 60&61... " all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee. Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law..."
vs 66... "And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life..."

You have just read a complete list to include "every sickness & every plague...". This is what Jesus Christ has redeemed you from. Jesus went to the Cross in spirit, soul and body; therefore He has redeemed us, spirit, soul and body! The Cross is the Center of Salvation for your spirit, soul and body! 1 Corinthians 6:20 "For you were bought with a price, therefore glorify God in your spirit and your body because they both belong to God." If He had not redeemed them, they wouldn't belong to Him.

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the Law! Sickness of every kind was included in the curse of the Law. Therefore Christ has redeemed us from Sickness and Disease! Don't you let ignorance keep you from getting what rightfully and legally belongs to you! Read God's Word. Study the Character and Nature of God as revealed in His Word and in the Life of Jesus. ANYONE who came believing received!

Mt 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
Matthew 7: 7 Ask, and it shall be given you...For every one that asks receives...If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Now you know better...go ahead and ask Him to heal you right now in the Name of Jesus!
Leave a comment on the web page and let me know you prayed. I'd like to pray with you in agreement! Mt 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

EVERYTHING HE DOES IS WONDERFUL!

Take some time to reflect on these words…it’ll do you good!

Mark 7:31ff "Jesus left Tyre and went to Sidon, then back to the Sea of Galilee and the region of the Ten Towns. A deaf man with a speech impediment was brought to him, and the people begged Jesus to lay his hands on the man to heal him. Jesus led him to a private place away from the crowd. He put his fingers into the man’s ears. Then, spitting onto his own fingers, he touched the man’s tongue with the spittle. And looking up to heaven, he sighed and commanded, “Be opened!”Instantly the man could hear perfectly and speak plainly!Jesus told the crowd not to tell anyone, but the more he told them not to, the more they spread the news, for they were completely amazed. Again and again they said, Everything He does is wonderful. He even heals those who are deaf and mute.”

This morning I was reading and talking with the Lord when these words literally jumped off the pages and my heart began to rejoice. Every thing He does is wonderful! It’s true…

Think about the following:

The moment He came into your life.

The times He rescued you.

The times He empowered you to do the impossible right in the midst of your impossibility.

The moment you met your spouse.

The birth of your children.

The time He rescued you from certain defeat and doom.

That ALL your sin…past…present & future are forgiven.

That you have peace with God and within your heart.

That He works within you both to will and to do those things which please Him.

That he has given you everything that pertains to life and Godliness.

That He has healed your sicknesses and taken your diseases away..

That he has always been Faithful to you.

That he has supplied all your needs according to His riches in Glory.

That he has protected you from harm and given you a place to hide when you’re afraid.

That He has given you a rock as a firm foundation upon which to stand when all around you is sinking.

That He has given you them Mind of Christ and access to the very Wisdom of God Himself.

That He has filled you time and time again with the Power of the Spirit of God.\

That God Almighty lives on the inside of you.

That you are His Dwelling Place.

That He has given you His Ability and that there isn’t anything you can’t do through Christ Who is the source of your strength.

That He enables you to fulfill the dreams and visions He has given you.

That He steps in and champions your cause when the giants arise in your life.

That you are the Apple of His Eye.

That you are an Heir of God and a Joint Heir with Jesus Christ,.

That He has commanded His angels to minister on your behalf.

That He upholds all things in your life by the Word of His Power.

That the Ability of God courses through your veins.

That he provides you with a way when there is no way.

That He is the standard of Truth in your life when the world gives you no truth at all.

That He has given you a reason to live.

That he has Called you…Commissioned you and empowered you.

That he has control of your heart and that He gives you a heart to know Him and turns your heart to Himself.

That He is your God and you are His possession.

That you are a Chosen generation, a Royal Priesthood, a Holy nation.

That He directs and orchestrates your life.

That He is your Shepherd…He leads you…He feeds you…He guides you.

That He will never leave you or forsake you.

That He has made you the Righteousness of God.

That as far as the east is from the west…that’s how far He has removed your sins.

Do I need to go any further? Add on to this list and make it your own…

Remember what David did when he was facing the giant…He rehearsed how wonderful God was and what He had done for Him in the past. “ The same God Who delivered me from the mouth of the lion and the bear will deliver your head into my hands this day!”

Listen to David…the man who pursued and discovered the heart of God…

Psalm 103:1 ff Praise the LORD, I tell myself; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Praise the LORD, I tell myself, and never forget the good things he does for me.He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He ransoms me from death and surrounds me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s… etc.

Don’t you agree with me today that….

Everything He does is wonderful.

Love to all in the Name of Jesus!
